Have a sense of humour

Updated: Jun 10, 2019

If I don’t have indoor options for portraits, I take my couples out for portraits irrespective of the weather and I’m lucky that every couple I’ve shot has just gone with it. Your wedding photos tell the story of your day, and if the story is that everyone got a big soggy but smiles and giggled, their way through it, then that’s absolutely what your photographs should show.

“Our wedding day poured pretty much all day, but we knew that this day was only going to happen once, so just embraced the rain and had a hilarious time doing so! We had some awesome photo opportunities that were so different to dry weddings, some of which are our favourite photos of the whole day!

The wet weather also made for the great atmospheric photographs, the cosiness it created in our marquee and the hilarious memories, to name a few!” – Katie + Luke

In conclusion, and this goes for any wedding, not just an ourdoorsy one, be prepared and think through all your eventualities and you’ll be sure to have a solution no matter what happens on the day and you can just get on and enjoy it And ultimately, so long as you marry one another surrounded by your favourite people… Who cares what Mother Nature decides to gift you on your big day!

“No one really minds if it rains on the day, everyone’s so happy for you and you’ll be thinking about the things that matter.” – Libby + Dane
